On paper, your life makes sense. It just doesn’t feel like yours anymore.

Consultations available in Texas & Missouri.
You’ve built a demanding career or business. You’re competent, visible, and relied on.
You entered systems no one in your family had access to before, or you built something from the ground up.
You carry responsibility, visibility, and financial pressure.
Your world expanded.
Your relationships shifted.
Upward mobility often creates distance: socially, culturally, even within your own family.
You’ve learned how to function at a high level.
You’re just not sure who you are outside of achieving.
At some point, competence stopped being something you do and became who you are.
You may notice:
Burnout is often the surface.
Underneath it is identity strain.
This isn’t about dismantling your ambition.
Ambition likely carried you here. It built stability, opportunity, and access.
But when achievement becomes identity, success can start to feel like performance.
This work is about separating your worth from your productivity.
It’s about expanding your internal world so the life you’ve built no longer requires constant self-abandonment to maintain.
It’s about building a version of success you can live inside.

I’m Leah Walter, LPC-S and LMFT-S, licensed in Texas and Missouri.
As a first-generation professional woman, I understand the complexity of upward mobility: the pride, the responsibility, and the distance it can quietly create in close relationships. Building something meaningful requires strength. It can also require a version of you that feels increasingly narrow.
I work primarily with first-generation corporate and professional women navigating burnout, relational strain, and the unsettling realization that achievement may have become identity.
Therapy with me is thoughtful, honest, and grounded. We slow things down enough to examine what’s driving you and what it’s costing you. There’s room here for sharp language, dark humor, and saying things exactly as they are.
The professional version of you can rest here. Other parts, the uncertain, frustrated, ambitious, grieving, questioning parts, are welcome to take up space.
This work isn’t about undoing your ambition. It’s about expanding your capacity to live inside the life you’ve built.
Private-pay therapy for women navigating burnout, identity strain, and relational challenges tied to upward mobility.
This work helps you clarify who you are beyond achievement, beyond work, and beyond relationships — and build a life that truly fits you.
